PROPERTIES AND BENEFITS The essential oil of Anise badiana (or Star Anise) is extracted from the Illicium verum plant, belonging to the Illiciaceae family. Star Anise is used as an antispasmodic, soothing and balsamic. Balsamic: if massaged or vaporized in the environment, it is effective in treating inflammation of the respiratory tract, such as bronchitis, cough and catarrh.
